Nobody asked for Kirby in a witch hat. I did it anyway. ๐๐
Day 5 of the 365 challenge and I’m fully in my Halloween gaming crossover era. Kirby has always been one of my favorite characters โ something about that little pink guy that just makes everything cuter โ so putting him in spooky season mode felt like the most natural thing in the world.
These turned out to be one of my favorite sets so far and I haven’t even gotten past Day 8. Something tells me Kirby will make another appearance before the year is done.
About This Look
Painting round characters like Kirby at nail size is a specific kind of challenge. The temptation is to add too much detail โ all the little cheek blushes, the tiny feet, the texture โ and that’s where people lose the likeness. At nail scale, less detail actually reads better. Get the silhouette right, the color right, and two or three key features right, and people instantly recognize it.
For the purple Halloween background I used raw glitter mixed with base gel to get that spooky glittery feel. The stars and ghosts scattered around are freehand nail art while the Kirbies are 3D and they tie the whole Halloween theme together.
Lastly, I did these for my kids who throughly enjoy Kirby.
