She is complete. And she is everything. β€οΈ
Day 10 is the full Betty Boop set reveal and I am so proud of how this one came together. If you missed Part 1, go check that out first because that’s where you’ll see the concept sketch and the Betty portrait nail getting painted. This post is the finish line.
We have got snakeskin, hand-lettered “Betty Boop” script, polka dots with 3D cherries, the full-body Betty portrait, and a snakeskin accent nail with a 3D heart cherry to close it out. Five nails, one cohesive story. Let’s break it all down. π
About This Look
Nail 1 β Polka dots with 3D cherries. White base with red polka dots, a hand-painted cherry with green stem, and a 3D sculpted heart cherry sitting on top. The dimensional cherry is the detail that makes this nail. It bridges the vintage Betty Boop world with something fresh and tactile.
Nail 2 β Snakeskin with hand-lettered “Betty Boop” script. Snakeskin texture as the background with “Betty Boop” written in bold red lettering outlined in black. Getting the lettering to sit right over the snakeskin without getting lost took [describe your approach]. The contrast between the organic texture and the clean script is everything.
Nail 3 β The Betty portrait nail. If you watched Part 1 you saw this one come to life. Full body, freehand painted, polka dot dress and all. She is the centerpiece of the set and she earned it.
Nail 4 β Snakeskin accent.A second snakeskin nail to balance the set and give the hand visual rhythm. The snakeskin ties back to nail 2 so the set feels intentional even across five different designs.
Nail 5 β 3D heart cherry on snakeskin. The closer. Snakeskin base again with a 3D sculpted heart-shaped cherry and green stem sitting on top. Matching the cherry energy from nail 1 but in a bolder, statement form to end the hand strong.
Building a cohesive multi-design set
Five nails, five different designs, and it all has to read as one set when you hold the hand up. That is the challenge with concept sets like this and it is where the sketch phase earns its keep. When you plan it out in advance you can see the full hand before you paint a single nail.
The throughlines in this set are the snakeskin texture (nails 2, 4, and 5), the red and white color story running across all five nails, and the cherry motif connecting nails 1 and 5. Those repeating elements are what make five completely different designs feel like they belong together.
Total time for both parts of this set: [fill in your hours]. Was it worth it? Look at it. π
